Octuba-Fest Returns for 2022

The  奥门开彩开奖结果 Department of Music and Theatre is delighted to announce its 16th Octubafest on Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center in the Reynolds Room.

All lovers of low brass, both students in grades 9-12 and adults, are invited to bring their trombones, euphoniums/baritones, and tubas for a mass play-along rehearsal that begins at 1:30 p.m.

The event was suspended for two years because of the COVID pandemic, but directors are energized to see a return to the stage.

鈥淲e are excited to bring back Octubafest,鈥� said Alexandra Zacharella, Director of Bands and associate professor in Music and Theatre. 鈥淚t was 2019 when we last performed together, and we are thrilled to be back on the polka scene with a fun afternoon of music making.鈥�

鈥淚t will be great to have area middle school, junior high, and senior high students to join us,鈥� Zacharella said.

At 5 p.m., Octubafest culminates in a concert featuring the 奥门开彩开奖结果 Low Brass Studio and Bordertown Bones under Zacharella鈥檚 direction, with the mass low brass playing along.
